This is a bit more elegant than most Sineann wines. Light ruby in color, mostly opaque and bright. The nose has sour cherries and sandalwood. Medium bodied. Light tannins. On the palate, this is very nice albeit not that complex. It drinks easy with persistent sour cherries. Good acidity. Nice finish. It is nice on its own and will well with many foods. Pork chops would be a great pairing. Drink over the next six to nine years.
Ruby in color, mostly clear and bright. The nose has cherries, spice and a slight cola note. Medium bodied. On the palate, this is a bit bigger and more intense (in a good way) than I might have expected for this wine. Black cherries, sour cherries, with some tobacco/forest floor. There is some depth but it will take some cellaring to unwind the complexity. Long finish. Hold for another five to eight years and drink for ten to fifteen after that. The classic pairing would be Salmon. Plenty of upside on the score as it matures.
2007 in Oregon was a love it or hate it vintage. The wines tended to be thinner and less ripe. Whether this is good is up to the taster. While I have had some lovely wines from that vintage, for the most part, it is not one of my favorite vintages. Sineann tends to make bigger styled Pinots (on an Oregon scale), so it was interesting to see how this was drinking at 12 years from vintage. Sineann sadly no longer utilizes fruit from this vineyard. Panther Creek does, but I have yet to try one. Peter Rosback did amazing things with this vineyard back in the day. At age 10, this is still youthful but drinking wonderfully. For Oregon, Sineann wines tend to be big at birth, but as they age, they mellow and integrate. This one is just starting to. Deep ruby in color. The nose has cherries, slight sour cherries, a slight bit of cedar and a nice earthiness. On the palate, the sour cherries and slight cherries layer with the clean earthiness.
