Inky purple in color, opaque and bright. The nose is great. Classic aromas of cassis, blueberries, dark chocolate and baking spices. Full bodied. Firm tannins. Nice balance. On the palate, this is delicious if still youthful. Plenty of depth, it unwinds in the glass. Flavors of cassis, blueberries, dark chocolate and spice. Long finish. Drink over the next twenty years. This is great on its and will work well with big foods. A nice choice with BBQ Brisket.

Yowza! This is drinking wonderfully right now. Still a tad on the young side but oh, so good. Inky purple in color, opaque and bright. The nose has cassis, anise, baking spices, cherries and leather. Full bodied. Lush texture but lots of precision. Depth and complexity. On the palate, plenty of cassis, some black cherries with underlying leather and slight char/earthiness. Great balance. Long finish. This is delicious on its own and will work with bigger dishes of roasted meats or fowl. Drink over the next ten to fifteen years.

Beautiful showing and yet another example of how "showy" Napa Cabs can age and develop nuances and subtilty although this one still has plenty of life left. Purple in color, ruby at the rim, opaque and bright. The nose has cassis, cedar, slight tobacco, and just a bit of spice. Full bodied. Medium to firm tannins. On the palate, this took about an hour to open and then just kept developing in the glass. Flavors of cassis, some black cherries, spice, leather and char. Long finish. From the eponymous winery of Thomas Rivers Brown. They make some stunning Cabs and this one is always one of my favorites. The 2017 version is no exception. The only real question is just how good it will get. Inky purple in color. The nose has cassis, blueberries, slight floral notes, sandalwood and a roasted wood quality. This is one wine where the descriptor of sexy will work. The palate is tight but in the glass opens with cassis, slight blueberries over a a nice hard, dry earthiness with gravel and graphite.
