Beautiful wine. Inky purple in color with a thin ruby rim, opaque and shimmering bright. The nose has cassis, graphite, cedar and spice. Full bodied. Firm tannins. Great balance. Concentrated. On the palate, this took a few hours to really open but then drank quite well. Flavors of cassis, spice, slight earthiness and char. Good finish. This could use more cellaring but with a long decant no harm opening now. Give it a few hours minimum. Drink over the next twenty years. Great on its own, this worked well with Eggplant Parmesan. At least a couple of points of upside on the score as it matures.
