I wondered how this would show as these wines generally need some time.  It did, however, have a six hour decant prior to serving.  While not yet at peak, this drank quite well.  Inky purple in color, opaque and bright.  The nose is tight but opens to show cassis, slight tobacco, a bit of leather and char.  great texture.  Firm tannins.  Pin point balance.  It is much bigger and more open on the palate.  Flavors of cassis, slight black cherries, slight blueberries, a bit of earthiness and char.  Seamless. Long finish.  This is delicious and will no doubt be a 100 point wine with a few more years of cellaring.  Drink over the next twenty to forty years.  It is great on its own and will work with many but the lightest foods.  A great choice for Brisket but also Roasted Chicken.
