2021 Left Coast Estate Pinot Meunier High Acres, USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Van Duzer Corridor, Wine Review

This is 100% Pinot Meunier aged in 15% new French Oak.   This is a varietal more often seen as a blend in Sparkling wines.  Ruby/purple in color, clear and bright.  The nose is nice cherries, plums, black tea but also a bit of a reductive note (a bit like rubber).  The reduction blew off after about  an hour.  Firm tannins.  Moderate acidity.  Flavors of black cherries, plums and slight anise especially on the finish.  Some warmth as well on the finish.  Over all a very interesting and nice wine that is drinking well on its own.  It will work well with many foods (not seafood).  It went well with Thanksgiving leftovers.  Drink over the next three to five years.
