This is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from Pritchard Hill. Purple in color, opaque and bright. The nose has cassis, sandalwood, and an earthy not quite barnyard note that is really Bordeaux-esque. It has a great plush but energetic texture which I loved! Young and still very tannic. On the palate, cassis and a slight cough syrup note on the finish which should integrate with some age. Also some dark chocolate and graphite. This wine is quite concentrated and really took some time to open. Give it five to eight years in the cellar and then drink for twenty to thirty after that. It worked nicely with some grilled mushrooms but for the short term will need big food. Like the other wines in this series, the score should go up another three points or so with good cellaring.
