This Cab is a step up in the Domaine Bousquet lineup but still an excellent value from the producer. It is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from a single vineyard in Argentina using Organic grapes. It is touted as being a "Specific Cluster" made only in exceptional years. I presume this means clusters of grapes are picked including the stems rather than berries or partial clusters. In any event, it is an outstanding wine. Garnet in color, mostly opaque and bright. The nose is deep and concentrated with cassis and anise along with a slight minerality. Medium to full bodied. Medium tannins. On the palate, black cherries, cassis with plenty of depth. Long finish. The is still young and should improve. That said, it does drink well with some air and should easily go another ten to twelve years. Nice on its own, this would work well with roasted or braised meats and veggies.
