Another great vintage for this wine. Purple in color, opaque and bright. The nose is great with black cherries, raspberries, slight bramble, warm earth, and pepper. Medium to full bodied. Light to medium tannins. Great texture. Great balance. On the palate, this is young but already delicious. Flavors of black and red raspberries, black cherries and char. Lively. Long finish. It is drinking great now but should go another ten to fifteen years although it may likely be more "claret" in style. Drink on its own or with grilled meats, fowl or veggies.

This remains my favorite Carlisle Zinfandel year in and year out. There are lots of reasons, but chief among them is the texture. So rich and lush yet the wine has so much balance and energy. A blend of 96% Zinfandel and 4% Carignan. Purple in color, opaque and bright. The nose is great with raspberries, black raspberries, slight blueberries, smoke and slight bramble. Medium to full bodied. On the palate, black raspberries, raspberries and slight black cherries with smoke and some dry earthiness. Great acidity. Long finish. Delicious. My favorite Carlisle wine, and that is really saying something. There is something about this vineyard that just does it. It has a lot to do with texture although the other aspects are great too. And every vintage, Mike Officer seems to do better and better though 2016 might be hard to beat. Purple in color. The nose has black raspberries, black cherries, tobacco and spice. This continues to be my favorite Zinfandel in the Carlisle lineup. Purple in color, ruby at the rim, opaque and bright. The nose has black cherries, raspberries, slight black pepper and bramble. Medium bodied. Great, soft, but accessible texture. Balanced. On the palate, this is delicious. Black raspberries, black cherries, slight black pepper and slight char. Good acidity. Long finish. This is delicious on its own and will work nicely with foods off the grill. Drink over the next five to seven years.

My favorite vineyard from my favorite Zinfandel producer! Purple in color. The nose is black raspberries, slight cedar, slight bramble, spice and pepper. With air, some dark cherries emerge. My favorite part of this wine is the texture which seems consistent over vintages. It is rich and lush yet the wine glides down the palate. Flavors of black raspberry and minerals and slight char and pepper. Complex and deep. Each sip leaves one wanting another sip. Then the bottle is drained. Works with a wider variety of food than imagined. Long finish. A spectacular wine.
