This is fantastic. 100% Sangiovese, it is a big wine and the kind I love to pour for people who just don't give Chianti enough respect. Purple in color with ruby hues, mostly opaque and bright. The nose is tight but opens to show black cherries, anise, and slight forest floor. Medium to full bodied. Firm tannins. Good acidity. 15% abv. On the palate, flavors of black cherries, plums, anise, and dry forest floor. Long finish. This is deep and complex and should develop a bit more over time. Drink over the next ten to fifteen years. It is great on its own and will work well with most foods. It will be great with a nice plate of pasta with roasted veggies or braised meats. It is on the pricier side but worth the splurge.
