This is a conglomeration of the remaining barrels after the single varietal wines have been bottled. And, like those, this keeps getting better every year.  It is a blend of 57% Syrah, 24% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Petite Sirah, 6% Cabernet Franc, and 3% Misc. others (white and red).  Really a tremendous valley in California red wine.  Purple in color, opaque and bright.  The nose has black raspberries, black cherries, cassis, char, slight leather, slight tobacco and spice.  Full bodied.  On the palate, this is delicious and complex.  Layers of black raspberries, cassis and black cherries with a nice earthiness and char.  Nice acidity.  Based on a recent 2007 tasted, this should age very well.  drink over the next fifteen to twenty years.  Great on its own, this will work well with most foods (not seafood though).  It worked well with a Moroccan vegetarian stew.
