Hestan vineyards was a former cattle ranch in Napa and, like everything in life, its evolution brought it to a new purpose as an estate vineyard. In addition to the Hestan line of wine, they also produce Stephanie. Petite Verdot is a quirky grape that typically makes an average wine, but is a great blending partner. Hestan has created a Petit Verdot that is aimed directly for the masses and is above average. Slightly fruiter and with a unapologetic oak treatment (27 months in oak, 40% of which were new French oak barrels) this is an easily consumable wine, and a great change of pace. It offers blackberry, black cherry, vanilla, raspberry compote, light cocoa, candied cherry, supported by a fairly tight tannic structure and a compelling acidity. It is a wine that definitely needs food to accompany it since this a bold wine, but one that will have you rethinking Petit Verdot. 103 cases. ORIGIN: Napa Valley. ALCOHOL: 14.6%
