This is an 80/20 blend of Cabernet Franc and Merlot from Bordeaux.  The winery was one of the original "Garagiste" wines.  It is a bruiser of a wine.  Inky purple in color, opaque and bright.  The nose is big but very enjoyable.  Black cherries, cherries, coffee, slight chocolate, cigar box, fresh tobacco, spice and clay.  Full bodied.  Firm tannins.  Nicely balanced.  On the palate, this is young but easy and delicious.  Certainly not close to peak but offering plenty.  flavors of black cherries, cherries, clay, chocolate and spice.  Long finish.  This is nice to day but with a bit of ageing, it will improve.  Drink over the next twenty to thirty years.  Right now, it is a difficult food match, but maybe Lamb Chops off the grill will work.
