Purple/ruby in color, mostly opaque and bright. The nose has black raspberries, black olives, black pepper and spices. Medium bodied. Medium tannins. On the palate, flavors of black raspberries, some black cherries, slight black pepper and an interesting tart cherry note. Good finish. This drinks well on its own but probably better with food. This would be great with various curries.
Purple in color, opaque and bright. The nose is classic Washington Syrah. Black raspberries, burnt rubber, black olives, black pepper and earthiness. Full bodied. Medium tannins. Good acidity. On the palate, this is up front and tasty with black raspberry fruit, earthiness and char. Nice finish. A big wine but not as exuberant as California Syrahs. This needs a couple more years to develop until peak then should drink well for twenty. Nice on its own, this would be a nice match with Indian food.
Another stunning Syrah from this winery! Syrahs from Washington are unique. They really show the terroir. Purple in color, ruby at the rim, mostly opaque and bright. Long finish. Delicious. This has a certain elegance in it not often found in new world Syrah. No harm opening now, but it should continue to mature and maybe even get better. Wow. My first time trying this wine and it is spectacular. Purple in color with a slight ruby rim. The nose has toast, black raspberries and black pepper. With air notes of soy sauce and black olives emerge. Full bodied but this lovely silky but powerful texture. On the palate, this has great boysenberry fruit with an underlying minerality. It is deep and complex and persistent on the palate. It is also delicious. Long finish. This will easily continue to improve for a decade and be good for another decade or two after that. Stunning bottle of wine. 100% Syrah. Ruby/purple in color. The nose has black raspberries, slight black pepper, a nice earthy note. With air, some black olives emerge along with a nice mineral backbone. On the palate, this has a great texture. Black raspberries, black licorice, and underlying char and minerals. Medium tannins. Long finish. This is intense, and concentrated and will need a few years to really open up but it is drinking great today. It needs hearty or spiced foods. Fantastic with upside.
From the same people who make Cayuse in Washington state. Inky purple in color, opaque and bright. The nose has black raspberries, black olives, roasted meat, and black pepper. Very enticing. Full bodied. On the palate, this is still young with medium to firm tannins. Nice black raspberry fruit. Big, but more youthful than a fruit bomb. If served blind, I think I guess a young Cornas rather than Washington. Nice finish. I have no real experience to judge ageability of these wines, but it seems like it need another five years or so, and then should be good for ten or fifteen more.
