This is a blend of 70% Sangiovese, 15% Sagrantino, and 15% Montepulciano from Umbria, Italy and grown at high elevations. Deep ruby in color, mostly opaque and bright. The nose is deep with cherries, black cherries, slight cherry blossoms, sandalwood and baking spice. Medium bodied. great acidity. Medium tannins. On the palate, this has a nice depth and tight layering that unwinds in the glass. Flavors of black cherries, cherries, forest floor and slight sandalwood. Long finish. This is better with food. A great choice for a really nice Pasta dinner. Drink ober the next sevent to twelve years.
