Tasted at the winery. This is a blend of 40% Cabernet Franc, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Merlot made the same way that they make their Amarone. That is, the grapes are air dried and then pressed. The result is a very unique wine. Deep ruby in color, clear and bright. The nose haas cherries, candied cherries, char, slight mint and black pepper. "Slick" texture. Firm tannins. The palate, is deep and complex with black cherries, cherries, balsamic, slight fresh tobacco and white pepper. Long finish. This is young and needs a few more years of cellaring. Hold for maybe five more years and drink for twenty after that. It is great on its own and will work with bigger foods. This would be great with Beef Stroganoff.
