Purple in color. The nose has plenty of cassis, some cedar, and slight cigar tobacco. On the palate, this is big ripe cassis fruit. A bit of mint on the palate as well. Some spice. Firm tannins. This needs a few years and should be good for another ten or more. This needs big food and will work well on its own. If drinking in the next few years, give it a few hour decant. Definitely some upside potential.
An outstanding Sonoma Cabernet. At $50, this is certainly priced in the ball park. it is very tight right now, so it needs some cellaring or air before serving. Purple in color. The nose has sweet cassis fruit, some dark cherries and tobacco with spice. On the palate, there are firm tannins. Pretty black cherry fruit. Nice finish.
Heritage School is what used to be known as Harris Estate Wines. David and Linda Jenkins purchased the property in 2014 and renamed the winery and the three vineyards on the property. Thomas Rivers Brown is the winemaker.
