Feinherb means it is an off dry German wine and that is accurate for this one. Light gold/green in color, clear and bright. The nose has lots of wet rocks, some peach and a hint of smoke. Medium bodied. On the palate, this is young but showing some depth. Peach and minerality. Good acidity. Long finish. Drinking great on its own, this should be very versatile with food. It would be lovely with a light summer lunch. Drink over the next fifteen to twenty years.

Nice to revisit this (it had been almost seven years). This was a great value back in the day ($20). It really hasn't ddeveloped as much as hoped, but still a very good wine. Light gold/green in color. The nose has green apples, and minerals. On the palate, this is dry. Some depth. The palate is more peach with some minerality. Shorter finish. No hurry but won't get better. A nice wine with lighter foods or maybe some Szechuan.

I tend to taste and drink a lot of wine over the course of a year. I am in a few tasting groups, sometimes the wines are consumed at various local wine store tastings and a number drunk with friends and family.

Nice to check in on this wine after a few years. It is open and drinking beautifully. Richters wines are always good to great, but they are always some of the best values in Germany. This one is no exception. Light golden in color. The nose has slight peach with lots of minerals/wet rocks. With air a bit of floral not comes out. On the palate, this is sweet but not overtly. A reasonable amount for Spatlese. It is crisp with nice peaches and wet rocks. Long finish. This will go with almost any food but will excel with spicy Thai or Indian. Best German Rieslings (For the Money)

German Rieslings are, to put it bluntly, misunderstood wines. German winemakers will tell you that Riesling is their country's flagship wine and that the Riesling grape works perfectly with the cooler climates and slaty soils of German river valleys. If, however, you ask a group of non-German wine drinkers to tell you about Riesling, several of them will probably use phrases like "too sweet" and "doesn't pair well" in their descriptions.
