Light golden in color. The nose is clean with lemon peel, and slightly herbal notes (in a good way). This is lean but persistent. Tart green apples on the palate had me thinking of Chablis. Although this is tight, it seems more open, especially with air, than a prior bottle. Long finish. This still needs more time to develop. Very crisp and worked well with food.
Light golden in color. The nose is very nice. Clean with no overt oak showing. Green apples, slight lemon cream and slight pineapple. On the palate, this is again clean with plenty of fruit. Green apples, slightly tart, slight lemon. An undetrlying minerality It worked well with a difficult food match (fried pickle poppers). Nice finish. Still very youthful, it wiill be interesting to revisit this.
This was a worrisome bottle. The top was sticky due to a leaking cork. On opening, the cork was a mess and had leaked and apparently self sealed at some point. Still, the underlying wine was excellent. Light golden in color. The nose has green apples, slight lemon custard and hints of vanilla. On the palate, this has a creamy texture but sharp acidity. Nice lemon fruit with some vanilla. Slight tannins. Long finish. Drinks like a wine I would expect from the Sonoma Coast. No idea how the leaking cork affected the development of this wine. This is the first bottling by Kutch from this AVA. Perhaps not quite the focus as the Santa Cruz mountain version but still quite nice. That may be to being a different vintage or AVA. This is golden in color. The nose has pears, slight vanilla, some lemon and a slightly sweaty note to it. On the palate, this is of course young. The pears and slight lemons come thru. Some acidity but not a lot. It will be good to revisit this and see if it comes more together. That said, it is delicious now with depth to it. Worked very well at the dinner table.
Another quality wine from Jamie Kutch. For the quality, this is a very good value. Obviously very young, this showed better on day 2 although it was outstanding right on opening. Green gold in color. The nose has slight vanilla and lemons. A bit of baking spices. On the palate, this has a lemonade quality on day 1 and comes off as slightly sweet. It all comes more into focus with air on day 2 showing dry with more depth. Lemons and minerals. A lovely texture. Long finish. This will need some time until peak, say three to five years and then should drink well for another ten to tw
