Every  time I drink a Christopher Tynan wine it is very impressive.  This is a beautiful wine that is middle of the pack in terms of style.  Not over the top but showing how well Syrah can be made in "cooler" pockets in California.  Purple in color, opaque and bright.  The nose is great with black raspberries, black pepper, bacon fat, slight lavender, and a bit of char.  Full bodied.  Light to medium tannins.  Great balance.  On the palate, this is deep and complex.  Flavors of black raspberries, black pepper, char and long with an earthy quality.  Long finish.  This is in a great place now but may still improve as it matures.  Close to peak though.  It is great on its own and would work wonderfully with Indian Cuisine.  Drink over the next ten years.
