My first time trying this winery.  This is a project of the grandson of the founders of V. Sattui, and old Napa Valley winery.  It is apparently a replica of a 13th century Tuscan Castle.  Of course, that has nothing to do with the wine.  This was very good.  It is fruit forward but has a nice elegance to it at this point.  Purple in color, ruby at the rim.  The nose has spice, cassis and slight bell pepper.  Medium bodied.  On the palate, there is cassis and cherries with silky tannins over some leather notes.  A bit of acidity but not strong.  This will pair with medium weight foods and drink nicely on its own.
