This is 80% Grenache, 15% Syrah and the other 5% assorted Rhone varietals from the excellent 2007 vintage. This is drinking beautifully and in a really great place at age 18. Deep ruby in color, clear and bright. The nose is deep with cherries, black cherries, spice/garrigue, and slight wild herbal notes. Just a touch of funk. Lovely creamy texture. Nice balance. Light tannins. On the palate, this is complex and deep. Layered with cherries, black cherries, spice and a hint of earthiness. Long finish. This is delicious on its own and will be great with the right foods. Braised meats or stews would be perfect but so would a Burger off the grill. It won't get better, drink over the next five to eight years.
