Purple in color. The nose has cherries, black cherries, slight chocolate and cedar. On the palate, this is still not at peak but drinking very well. Layers of black cherries, cherries, earth and spice. Nice texture. Good finish. This is a nice value for top (not the very top) Bordeaux. Still some upside for this wine as well as it matures. Better with food. There is plenty of fruit though.
Purple in color, ruby at the rim. Clear and bright. The nose has black cherries but also some barnyard stink. This only partially blew off with air. On the palate, this has cherries, cherry juice, slight black cherries and layers of damp earthy forest floor. Still has some tannins. This certainly is at peak at best and probably a bit past but not too far. There is a nice complexity and still fruit left. I would drink these over the next five to ten years depending how you like your Bordeaux. For my wallet, this house usually over delivers albeit not at the top level of Bordeaux eit
Another wine that has been consistently over performing expectations for a while now. In a group blind tasting, this finished first, and although I did not have it that high, it is a great wine that will age well. Purple in color, ruby at the rim, opaque and bright. The nose has black cherries, mint and slight bell pepper (just a hint). Medium bodied with medium weight tannins. This has ripe/sweet fruit on the palate. Cherries and black cherries. This is a big, plush wine for Bordeaux standards. It seemed a bit polarizing between those who enjoy those types of wines and those who want a more "traditional" Bordeaux. Purple in color, opaque and bright. The nose has blueberries, cassis, cedar and tobacco. Full bodied. Firm tannins. On the palate, a plush, rich texture. Plenty of depth. Still quite youthful. Long finish. It is slightly over the top but I think with a bit more cellaring it will come together. Another five years in the cellar will help. Drink over the next twenty. A nice choice with BBQ Ribs.
Gorgeous showing for this wine. Purple in color, opaque and bright. The nose is wonderful with black cherries, chocolate, spice, cherries and slight funk. Full bodied. Lush texture. On the palate, this is just about at maturity. Plenty of vibrant fruit; cherries and black cherries but also starting to show some depth and complexity. No hurry though. This should drink well for another ten to twenty years. Nice on its own, but better with food. Lamb would be a good match.
This is coming along quite nicely. It's not yet at peak and still drinks big and young. Purple in color. The nose is big with black cherries, some black raspberry, spice, some chocolate and a bit of coffee. On the palate, this has medium tannins. Lots of black cherry and black raspberry fruit over a bit of char/dark chocolate. Slight black licorice on the finish.
