This is in a great place right now. Ruby in color with slight browning. The nose has cherries, slight raspberries, slight tar and slight forest floor. Medium bodied. Tannins are mostly resolved. On the palate, nice cherry notes with some forest floor underneath. Good acidity. Nice finish. This is at peak. it should be consumed over the next five to seven years. It goes great with pasta and cream sauce and will work well with meat based dishes too.

This one is drinking very nicely at 9 years from vintage. Ruby in color, clear and bright. The nose is nice with cherries, slight black cherries, rose and slight menthol. Medium bodied. Medium tannins. On the palate, nice cherry fruit with underlying char and a bit of woodiness (sticks?). Good acidity. This is accessible now and may still improve but no reason to wait. It should easily go another seven to ten years. This drinks nicely on its own but will be better with food. Pasta with mushrooms in a cream sauce should be excellent.

This was purchased at the winery and brought back by a friend. Ruby in color, clear and bright. The nose is classic with cherries, tar and slight baking spice. Medium to full bodied. Medium tannins. On the palate, this is surprisingly open. Cherries with underlying asphalt. Good acidity. Long finish. This is obviously young but drinking well already. It should drink well for the next twenty years. Nice on its own, this would be better with food. Pasta in a cream and mushroom sauce would be great.

This is really drinking well. If not at peak, pretty damn close. Light ruby in color with some orange bricking at the rim. The nose is very pretty with cherries, slight dried cherries, slight roses and hints of hot tar. On the palate, this has a lovely texture. Light tannins. Cherry fruit layered with earthiness. Good balance. Nice finish. This has a contemplative quality for drinking alone, but works great with food. Pasta and mushrooms are perfect. It won't get better but should drink well for seven to ten more years at least.

This bottle was decanted for sediment about an hour prior to serving. This bottle was fresher than one opened about a year ago. It was purchased around 2009, and it is not clear if this is an original bottling or not. Light ruby in color, some browning, clear and bright. The nose is nice with cherries, tar and slight smoke. Perhaps a slight but of forest floor. Complex and deep with layers or some fruit but mostly tertiary notes. Cherries, slight gravel, forest floor and slight char. Good finish. Lovely Barolo at a great place. Purple in color with ruby hues, mostly clear and bright. The nose has cherries, tar, slight roses and dust. Medium bodied. Medium to light tannins. Layers of fruit and tertiary notes. Cherries, and forest floor. Nice balance. Long finish. This is nice on its own but really needs food. Pasta with truffles or mushroom in a cream sauce would be great. It is at peak but there should be another 5 to ten more years of peak drinking.
