Tasted from a 3L bottle.  One of the best wines to come out of Tuscany (and one of the best Chianti producers).  This is 100% Sangiovese.  In this format, the wine is drinking beautifully.  Deep garnet in color, mostly opaque and bright.  The nose is deep and complex with black cherries, cherries, sandalwood, cedar and spice.  Full bodied.  Medium tannins.  Great backbone of acidity.  On the palate, this is just a bit aways from peak but showing great.  Flavors of cherries, black cherries and sandalwood with a bit of char.  Long finish.  Just a guess but the 750ml is at peak and should be consumed sooner than later.  This is great on its own but would be better with food.  A nice plate of pasta with some mushroom or truffles would be great.
