Purple/ruby in color. The nose has some volatile acidity which blows off to a slight degree. It is also dusty with cherries. On the palate, tart black cherries. Good acidity. Long finish. This seems past prime and moving slowly downward. It needs to be consumed soon. That said, it still provides plenty of pleasure at age 19. Food would certainly help.
Purple in color. The nose is nice with black pepper, black raspberries, slight roasted herbs, and some bacon fat. Full bodied. Cooler climate in style. On the palate, boysenberries, black pepper, slight earthiness with good acidity. Slight tannins. deep and layered. Good balance. Nice finish. This went very well with Indian food (Syrah is a surprisingly good food match with Indian food). Seems to be still on the younger side of peak though drinking well now.
These wines are taking forever to come around. Just now starting to show something. This is going to be a beautiful wine. Its outstanding now, but not nearly at peak and needs a lot of air. Black raspberries, slight black olives, earthiness and a mineral streak. Good acidity. Long finish.
This wine has really taken a long time to come around, but is now drinking great. This is there basic Syrah. Purple in color, deep ruby at the rim. The nose has black raspberries, black pepper, grilled meats and slight roasted herb. On the palate, this is deep and complex. Lovely medium bodied texture. Black raspberry fruit layered with dry, charred earth. Good finish. This should continue to drink well for another ten to fifteen years. A great match with Indian food, it should also work well with casseroles or roasts.
Finally. I have been drinking this wine since release and it is finally approaching ready to drink. There was always potential but it has now been realized. Hopefully, everyone still has some left. Lots of black raspberry fruit but not over ripe. A nice under layer or char and slight salinity. Very nice balance and texture. Long finish. This is 100% Syrah with a 15.3% ABV. That said, the alcohol isn't noticeable. Purple in color with ruby swirls. Mostly opaque and bright. The nose has black cherries with some spice and black pepper. Full bodied. On the palate, black raspberry fruit with underlying char and ash. Light tannins. Good finish. At age 7 this may yet improve a bit but it just about at its prime drinking window. It should drink well for another ten to twelve years. This will go well with roasted meats, fowl or veggies.
