When you think of Italy chardonnay does quickly not come to mind. And yet Italy has long produced chardonnay from various regions. This iteration defies a traditional California chardonnay and French Chablis making it a unique wine into itself. There are Notes of guava, quince, pear, white peach, a wee bit of lemon and lime kefir. There are a slight back notes of resin. This went through a partial malolactic fermentation so it straddles between oak and no-oak, then it was aged on the lees for a creamy viscosity. The acidity makes this an ideal food wine and the fairly soft nature of the flavors means it can pare with a wide variety of dishes from pasta to sushi and fish, to fettuccine Alfredo, and roasted chicken.
