2016 was the debut vintage for this wine, meant to showcase a special section of Chappellet’s Pritchard Hill Cabernet blocks. Seductive and rich black berry, blueberry, boysenberry notes are evident. There are subtle back notes of mocha, roasted coffee beans, clove and cinnamon. The tannins and acidity are so beautifully balanced it has the feel that it came off the vine like this. But winemaker Phillip Corallo-Tits is not one to use a heavy hand, but a guiding hand to craft a seamless wine that is worthy of its name.
