Caro was created to showcase two wine cultures - French and Argentine - and two noble grape varieties - Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec – as well as and two well-known wine families, Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite), and Nicolás Catena. In some cases these global wine alliances don’t work well, but that is not the case with the Caro wines. Their flagship Caro is a delicate balance of fruit and oak with mild acidity and tannins. You find blackberry, black cherry, boysenberry, raspberry, huckleberry with rustic mid palate hints of leather, cocoa powder and black pepper. This also has a lovely viscosity, making it smooth and seamless. Mainly Malbec with about 20% cabernet sauvignon, aged 18 months in 80% new French Oak barrels.
