A bit more elegant than many prior vintages.  Silvery/gold in color, clear and bright.  The nose is tight and takes a while to open.  Eventually showing lots of "wet rocks" and a decidedly concentrated, but not much fruit, nose.  Its all about minerality.  Viscous.  Sweet not cloying on the palate.  Moderate acidity.  A bit of salinity and lots of minerality on the nose.  Good finish.  This is wine that those who don't like over-the-top wines will love.  There is a lot here but with subtlety and less fruit.  It should age wonderfully.  Let this sit for another five to ten years and drink ov

This is an excellent value in sparkling wine.  Made from 100% Riesling.  More like a dry Prosecco than a Champagne in style, but quite refreshing and good.  Green/gold in color with a steady stream of small-ish bubbles.  The nose is nice with lemon-lime and some lanolin notes.  Medium bodied.  On the palate, this is dry with a nice  minerality and good acidity.  Slight lime notes as well.  Nice effervescence on the tongue.  Long finish.  This drinks nicely on its own and would work well with a wide variety of foods.  A nice choice just about any Germ food.  Drink over the first year or two

One of the better values in Sauternes. Light golden in color. The nose has with pineapples, honey and some of peach. On the palate, this is viscous and rich.  Sweet but not cloying.  Good acidity that cuts through the sweetness.  Honey and Pineapple.  Nice finish.  This is great on its own and will work with a not too sweet dessert.  Drink over the next fifteen to twenty years.

This is a rich California Cabernet but given that, more middle of the road in styling.  Inky purple in color, opaque and bright.  The nose has cassis, cedar, baking spice and slight graphite.  Full bodied.  Lush texture. Firm tannins.  On the palate, this is delicious.  Lots of cassis, some black cherry with underlying char and spice.  Nice finish.  This needs about ten more years until peak, but no harm drinking now.  Drink over the next twenty years.  Great on its own, this needs but food if opening now.  Brisket would work well.

This is a blend of 53% Merlot, 27% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Petit Verdot.  It is a delicious wine that is another label different from their Cabernet Sauvignon.  Purple in color with some ruby swirls, mostly opaque and bright.  The nose has black cherries, dark chocolate, cassis, plums, cedar and baking spices.  Full bodied.  On the palate, lots of black cherry fruit with some purple fruit over char and spice.  Firm tannins.  Good energy.  Nice finish.  This is drinking well and will probably improve a bit, but either way should drink well for ten to twelve more years.  It drinks well on

Always a pleasure to drink what is arguably the greatest wine in the world.  Not the best and not the worst vintage.  At age 27, this is mature but with decades left.  Red/orange in color, clear and bright.  The nose is great with apricots, peach, honey and marzipan.  Slightly viscous.  Complex on the palate.  Moderate acidity.  On the palate, honey, Crème brûlée with just a bit of underlying char.  A finish that goes on forever.  Delicious.  This drinks great on its own and will work with a more savory dessert, but that is not necessary.

After just recently trying the 2018, it was nice to try something with at least a few more years on it.  Just as delicious.  Inky purple in color, opaque and bright.  The nose has cassis, cedar, char and baking spice.  With air a slight graphite note.  Full bodied.  Firm tannins.  On the palate, lots of cassis, some black cherries and underlying char.  This is drinking well but will continue to develop ad mature over the next eight to ten years.  It should drink well for another ten to fifteen after that.  Great on its own, it needs big food to tame the tannins right now.  It went great wit

Decanted for sediment, this is still a bit young but no harm opening now.  Deep garnet with slight bricking, clear and bright.  Classic nose of cherries, slight dried cherries, some floral/rose notes and slight tar.  Full bodied.  Medium tannins.  Good acidity.  On the palate, this is showing nice complexity.  Lots of cherries, some dried cherries, with some underlying forest floor, mushrooms and tar.  Long finish.  This drinks better with food.  Mushroom pizza is a great choice.  Drink over the next fifteen to twenty years.

Golden green in color, clear and bright.  Great nose with lemon/lime and a slight chalk note.  Medium bodied with crisp acidity.  On the palate, this has some depth.  Grapefruit along with a touch of chalkiness.  Nice finish.  This drinks very easily on its own and works well with lighter foods, or seafood.  A nice wine with lobster.  Drink over the next seven to ten years.
