First time trying this winery.  Purple in color, opaque and bright.  The nose is lovely.  Complex aromas of cassis, black cherries, cedar, spice and slight earthy/tobacco notes.  Full bodied.  Medium to firm tannins.  Good balance.  On the palate, there is plenty of depth.  Not yet at peak but getting close.  Flavors of cassis, chocolate, clay, and damp earthiness.  Good finish.  Drink over the next eight to twelve years.  It is great on its own and will work well with many foods.  A nice choice with a Honey Brown Sugar Glazed Ham for the Holidays.

2021 Fattoria Petrolo Galatrona, Italy, Tuscany, Wine Review

This is 100% Merlot from Tuscany.  Inky purple, ruby rim, opaque and bright.  The nose is tight but opens with some air.  Notes of Black cherries, cherries, milk chocolate and spice.  Full bodied.  Firm chewy tannins.  A nice backbone of acidity.  On the palate, flavors of black cherries, cherries, char and spice.  As it opens some chocolate.  Long finish.  This is still young and although it drank well, its best days are ahead.  No harm opening now, but ideally hold for five years and drink for fifteen years after that.  This would go well with Pasta Bolognese (with Mushrooms).
