Marsanne is often misunderstood – too sweet, too flabby, too hard to pair with food. But Nysa gets it just right. The opening of this bottle is a very pleasant and unexpected surprise and it will cause you to rethink your view of Marsanne. Aromatic white peach, apricot, a touch of lemon zest, a whisper of guava, and the faint calling of honeysuckle express themselves. This is not a powerful wine - rather it is quiet, restrained, almost shy - but ultimately fully expresses a beauty and coyness that is, for lack of a better word – lovely. Barrel fermented and then aged in neutral barrels for seven months gives this a wonderful tactile feel, as well as structure and comprehensive acidity. It was bottled unfined and unfiltered. And once you taste this a world of food pairings opens up. If you’ve never had Marsanne before, this is the place to start. 75 cases. ORIGIN: Columbia River Gorge. ALCOHOL: 14.2%
