American rosé is certainly on an upswing, and there are many good producers making various iterations of rosé with diverse grapes. Personally, I’ve always been fond of going to the source, Provence, France. Fortunately Cuvaison crafts a Granache rosé that feels like it was birthed in Provence. There are soft notes of red raspberry, light hibiscus, fresh strawberry, and a hint of watermelon. What makes this work so well is not only the subtle flavors - and rosé is meant to accompany food and not be overpowering - but also it’s delightful acidity. The wine was aged a mere six months only in stainless steel, which retains its bright acidity and mineral flavors. This makes the wine very drinkable and is a companion with a diversity of food. This is a delightful rosé that shows the strength of Cuviason’s commitment to making top-tier wines.
