Chardonnay is not a grape that Italy is known for which is a shame.  There are many good ones out there that stylistically fall between crisp Chablis and more rounder new world styles.  This is another very good wine.  Perhaps it is because Italy traditionally tends to like wines with a lot of acidity that complement the foods of a particular region.  Likely, much of the Chardonnay is destined for foreign markets.  This is light gold in color, clear and bright.   The nose is nice with grapefruit, slight lemons and a hint of floral.  Medium to full bodied.  Good acidity.  Wispy tannins.  On the palate, this is a medium-big wine.  Flavors of grapefruit with some lemon.  Also, a bit of salinity.  It drinks well on its own and will work with some foods.  richer, buttery seafood dishes would work well (such as Lobster in a butter sauce).  Drink over the next five years.
