This is 100% Gargenaga from the northeast corner of Italy. Named in honor of Romeo & Juliet who "lived" in Verona, the later whose home is still visited there today. It is made in the appassimento style in which the grapes dry for a month in wooden crates. The grapes lose 30% of their water content increasing the sugar concentration. Pale straw in color, clear and bright. The nose has peach with slight lemon peel. Clean. Good acidity. On the palate, this is light and fresh with flavors of peach and a slight minerality. Just a bit of sweetness. Some lemon on the finish. It drinks easily on its own but would also work with lighter fare. Chicken Salad would be a nice match for a lunch or light dinner. Drink over the next couple of years.
