This is 100% Gamay Noir from Burgundy, France (Beaujolais). The grape bears a similarity to Pinot Noir and even more so as it ages. And the better ones do age. Garnet/purple in color, clear and bright. The nose is nice with black cherries and wild herbs. Medium bodied. Medium tannins. Nice texture. On the palate, this is riper than expected (not a bad thing). Black cherries, slight blueberries and slighter cherries. Good acidity. Well balanced. This is drinking well now and quite tasty. As it ages, it should get more complex and the "red" fruit flavors should come out a bit more. Nice on its own, this should be very food friendly. A great Pizza Night choice but will work well with Ham or Fowl. Great value. Drink over the next ten years.
