This is a red, semi-sweet wine from the country  of Georgia.  It is made from 100% Saperavi grapes that were not fermented dry.  The first sip was a bit different but as I got used to it, this is very enjoyable and for those who regularly drink sweeter red wines, this should be a great value.  Deep garnet in color, mostly opaque and bright.  The nose is different with black cherries, cherry cola, slight spice and slight dusty attic.  Medium to full bodied.  Medium tannins.  On the palate, this is slightly sweet but nowhere near cloying.  Good acidity as well that balances the sweetness nicely.  Flavors of sweet cherries and black cherries.  Not the most complex wine but very enjoyable on its own.   It would pair very nicely with a Georgian dish called Badrijani Nigvzit (fried eggplant with walnut paste) but also with Lamb Chops.  Drink over the next few years (but it might last even longer).
