2021 Flora Springs Soliloquy White, USA, California, Napa, Wine Review

This is a blend of 73% Sauvignon Blanc, 15% Malvasia and 12% Chardonnay from Napa. Having tasted the last few vintages, this just keeps getting better and better. One of my favorite white wines from Napa. Green/silvery/gold in color, clear and bright. The nose is great with tropical fruits, slight grassy note, and a bit of spice. Medium bodied. On the palate, peach guava, with slight chalk. Good balance. Long finish. Drink over the next five to seven years. This great on its own and would work well with trout or tuna off the grill.

This is one of the best Sauvignon Blancs made in Napa. Luckily, the grapes for this were made before the smoke from the fires tainted the grapes. In fact, this may be the best Soliloquy yet! It is a blend based on their proprietary clone of Sauvignon Blanc with some Chardonnay and Malvasia. Silvery green-gold in color, clear and bright. A very expressive nose. Soliloquy is the name for Flora Springs’ proprietary Sauvignon Blanc clone. The bottle is labelled as white wine but it is a blend of predominantly Sauvignon Blanc, with Chardonnay, and Malvasia. It is the top of the line white from this winery. It is silvery/gold in color, clear and bright. The nose is pretty with floral notes and some cara cara oranges. On the palate, this has a lovely creamy texture. Very lush. Flavors of bitters, limes and slight cream soda. Dry. A hint of almond on the finish. This is a very polished white wine and needs another year or so but should be good

This is a blend of Sauvignon Blanc (44%), Chardonnay (41%), Malvasia (10%), and Pinot Gris(5%). The name comes from a proprietary clone of Sauvignon Blanc that Flora Springs utilizes in the Crossroads vineyard. It is an interesting white that really needs some air when opening. Silvery/green in color with pale yellow/gold. On opening the oak is dominant and that did not work well. Of course, this is just being released and that will cure itself.
