This is a 250ML "juice box" of 100% Merlot from California. It retails for $15 per four pack. Ruby in color, mostly clear and bright. The nose has cherries, and confectionary sugar. Light bodied. No tannins. On the palate, this has sour cherries. Moderate acidity. Short finish. The packaging is cool for those trying to take wine next to a pool or someplace glass bottles are not allowed. These boxes should hold the contents well but probably should be consumed sooner than later. This would probably make a nice base for a Sangria, etc.

This a blend of 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Petite Verdot. A Napa version of a Right Bank Bordeaux wine but this is really a pretty big wine. Purple in color. The nose has black cherries, plums, slight spice and char. On the palate, the black cherries continue. There are firm tannins. Low acidity. A bit of underlying forest floor comes out with air. Medium finish. This makes a nice drink on its own. It should continue to evolve and become more food friendly with age. Another five years to peak and then another seven to ten after that. Bonterra wines are made from organically farmed grapes. This is a blend of mostly Merlot and Petite Sirah. It is a different take, a bit lighter and easier, but a delicious and well priced wine. Deep ruby in color, lighter at the rim, mostly clear and bright. The nose has raspberries and cranberries with a bit of char. On the palate, this has raspberries and candied cherries with an underlying char. Some complexity. This is clean and easy drinking. This was the year the fires hit California. It is important to be careful due to that but there were no notes of fire tain here. It is a well priced blend that is 79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Petite Sirah, 7% Malbec, 5% Merlot, and 1% Syrah. The wine is ruby at the rim of the glass with core of purple. Mostly opaque and bright. The nose has cherries, cassis, char, and slight camphor. With air, slight cedar emerges. On the palate, this is soft and accessible. A hint of sweetness. Slightly drying tannins. A moderate finish. This is a Merlot dominant Napa Red proprietary blend from Oak Knoll. Really an impressive wine. Inky purple in color with a thin ruby rim, opaque and bright. The nose is tight (it is young) but with some air, black cherries, cherries, and milk chocolate emerge. With a bit more air, there is also cedar, cassis and slight sandalwood and dust. It took a few hours to full open up without any decanting. Full bodied. Firm tannins. On the palate, black cherries, cassis, plums, over a char and slight tobacco. Long finish.
