2020 Simi Sauvignon Blanc, USA, California, Sonoma, Wine Review

This has 99% Sauvignon Blanc and 1% Semillon. A nice refreshing wine that is a great summer aperitif. Very pale, slivery green in color. The nose is interesting with orange citrus and lemon zest notes. A nice, slightly creamy texture. On the palate, flavors of grapefruit and grapefruit zest. Some warmth on the finish. With a bit of air, a Sweet-Tart quality comes out which is enjoyable. This drinks nicely on its own but worked with tomato Bruschetta. Drink over the next year. Nice value.

Light silvery gold in color. The nose is big with lots of yellow grapefruit. On the palate, this is not as big but nice. Minerals and clean. A slight bitter note. The finish shows the return of the grapefruit. This took about 30 minutes to open and improved after that. Its an easy drinking wine that is very food friendly. No hard edges. It proved to be quite popular with friends.

Robert Mondavi long ago started calling his Sauvignon Blanc as Fume Blanc, but it is the same wine. This is always a quality Sauvignon Blanc for a fair price. This is actually 87% Sauvignon Blanc and 13% Semillon. Pale golden in color with some green and copper hues to it. Clear and bright. The nose is pretty with oranges, limes, minerals and with air, a bit of dust and mint. This has a rich, creamy texture that gives it a presence that most Sauvignon Blancs don't have On the palate, there is lemon-lime, melon and a quality that is sort of like mint tooth paste (in a good way).
