This is a blend of 55% Grenache, 35% Syrah and 10% Carignan from higher altitude vineyards at the foot of Mt. Canigou in the Pyranees in the south of France.  Deep garnet in color, mostly opaque and bright.  The nose has black cherries, grilled meats, black raspberries and black pepper.  Medium to full bodied.  On the palate, black cherries, black raspberries with slight smoke.  Some depth and a nice complexity.  Light tannins.  Good balance.  Nice finish.  This is a very nice wine drinking well now and should continue to for the next five to seven years.  It will work well with chili or sausages.
