2023 M. Chapoutier Vin de Pays d'Oc Bila-Haut Rosé, France, Roussillon, Wine Review

This is a Rosé wine from master Rhone producer Michel Chapoutier. It is a blend of 60% Cinsault and 40% Grenache aged in stainless steel. Salmon pink in color with some pale orange hues, clear and bright. The nose is great with strawberries, cherries, slight watermelon and a bit of dry earth. Medium bodied. Very lite but present tannins. On the palate, this is crisp and dry and refreshing. Flavors of strawberries and watermelons. Easy to drink. Moderate finish. This is a great summer sipper on its own and will work well with lighter foods and would be a nice wine with grilled fish. drink over the next year. Great value.

Summertime is always a great time for rosé, but of course, all year long is even better. Rosé should always be low alcohol with light, bright fruit, and a wine that works with a variety of foods, and should be a wine that is not overly complicated. Côte Mas, which I have reviewed for several vintages, is a consistently good, inexpensive rosé that works well pretty much whenever. This iteration is comprised of mainly Grenache with Cinsault and Syrah. It offers bright strawberry, cranberry and pomegranate, light rhubarb and fresh cherry.

This is a Rose blend of 70% Grenache and 30% Syrah from France. 13% abv. This is a very tasty wine that represents a nice value. It is a deep salmon pink/orange color, clear and bright. The nose is nice with strawberries, slight pomegranate, with a hint of dried herbs. Slightly oily texture. On the palate, raspberries with pomegranate. Clean. Good acidity. Nice finish. This drinks nicely on its own and will work well with lighter foods but also fried chicken. Drink now.

I don't know where you live, but here on the shores of Lake Erie, its been a wet, cool spring. That might be good for the grapevines, but its put a bit of a damper on drinking outside. But, it looks like we finally made it. Time to open up some Rose! This is a very attractively packaged rose from Provence. A blend of Grenache, Cinsault, and Syrah. Excellent Rose from the south of France. A blend of mostly Grenache, Cinsault and Vermentino grapes. Pale salmon pink with a touch of orange in color, clear and bright. The nose is lovely with strawberries, watermelons and a touch of salinity. Light bodied with no tannins. Crisp and delicious. On the palate, nice strawberry notes turning to watermelon on the lingering finish. There is a nice depth and complexity not often found in Roses. This is great on its own and would work well with all but the biggest beef dishes. Try with roasted chicken.

This is a Rose from southern France. It is a blend of 60% Grenach, 20% Syrah, 10% Cinsault, and 10% Tibouren. Perhaps more than most springs, I am looking forward to staying home and sipping on some Rose as the weather gets nice/warmer. This is light salmon pink/orange in color. Very pale but bright and clear. It has a much bigger nose with nice strawberries, some hay and slight watermelon. On the palate, it has an interesting texture. A bit oily but also creamy.
