This is a blend of Pinot Noir, Trousseau, and Poulsard from France near the Swiss border. Ruby/orange in color, clear and bright. The nose features dusty cherries, slight cranberries, a bit of strawberries and a floral quality. Light to medium bodied with wispy tannins. Strong backbone of acidity. On the palate, cherries and cranberries with some underlying dry earthiness. Good finish. This wine really needs food to be at its best. It should work well with Duck or other fowl. Based on a 1953 version drunk along side, this wine should go another thirty to fifty years, but still, probably best to drink in the next ten.
