This one kept getting better all night and in a recent tasting was the groups Wine of the Night. It is a blend of 70% Tempranillo, 20% Garnacha, 7% Mazuelo, and 3% Graciano. A bit more modern take on Rioja. Purple in color with ruby swirls, mostly opaque and bright. The nose is dusty with cherries, tobacco and char. Medium to full bodied. Firm tannins. Nice balance. Great plush texture. On the palate, this seems a bit ripe/sweet but settles down to flavors of cherries, black cherries, spice and char. Some menthol on the finish. This drinks great on its own and will work well with most (not sea food) dishes. Lamb chops would work well. Drink over the next ten years.
