Ruby in color, clear and bright. The nose has a lot of earthy barnyard, but also some cherries, macerated cherries and tea leaves. Medium bodied. Tart acidity. Firm tannins. On the palate, cherries with earthiness. Nice finish. Drinking well but the barnyard may be a bit much for some. Drink over the next five years. Better with food. Bistecca alla Fiorentina or other steak dishes should work well.
Purple/ruby in color, mostly clear and bright. On the nose black cherries, dust, some cherries and tea leaves. Medium bodied. Silky texture. Black cherry fruit with some underlying forest floor. Tight and tannic. This seems riper than other vintages but also seems very closed. Eventually it opened up after a couple of hours in the glass. Maybe hold for a couple years and drink for ten after that. It will work better with food. Maybe Potato Tortelli would be a nice match young.

A perennial favorite in my household going back to the days when this was labeled as Chianti. A very nice value and a wine that will age for a few years anyway. Purple in color, slightly opaque and bright. The nose is dusty, slightly smoky, with nice cherry fruit. On the palate, this has nice layering. Not too deep or complex but what is there is developed. It certainly seems as though there are some Bordeaux varietals in this wine, but I am unsure of the blend. It drinks more like a Bordeaux of similar price. The fruit is riper though. This is an outstanding wine, but it didn't deliver what I was looking for on this evening. The folks I was drinking it with felt otherwise and it was there favorite wine (tasted blind). Ruby in color with dark swirls, mostly clear and bright. The nose hasw black raspberries, black cherries, baking spice and roasted herbs. Full bodied with firm tannins. On the palate, this has black cherry fruit. It seems deep but not giving up much. With air some black raspberries and even blueberries emerge. Hard to get past the tannins. Firm finish. This needs some time to come together and open
