2017 Diving Into Hampton Water Rose, France, Languedoc, Wine Review

A collaboration between Gérard Bertrand, and Jon and Jesse Bon Jovi. HW Wine Company is essentially a company that commissioned this wine to be made in France to celebrate the good life. Light salmon pink in color. The nose is all about watermelon and strawberries. It has a nice texture. Nice acidity. This wine is really all about summer fruit. Not a lot of depth or complexity but tasty and easy drinking. While it is probably made as a summer sipper it went well with a summery watermelon salad. Fun wine.

This is a Rosé wine from master Rhone producer Michel Chapoutier. It is a blend of 60% Cinsault and 40% Grenache aged in stainless steel. Salmon pink in color with some pale orange hues, clear and bright. The nose is great with strawberries, cherries, slight watermelon and a bit of dry earth. Medium bodied. Very lite but present tannins. On the palate, this is crisp and dry and refreshing. Flavors of strawberries and watermelons. Easy to drink. Moderate finish. This is a great summer sipper on its own and will work well with lighter foods and would be a nice wine with grilled fish

This is a higher end Rose that is a blend of Grenache and Tibouren grapes. It is a very bright but light salmon pink color. Quite an expressive nose of watermelon, strawberries along with slight grapefruit and just a touch of wintergreen. On the palate, this is clean and steely. Strawberries and peaches with slight tannins (unusual for a Rose). Long finish. This drinks well on its own but to really show its class, it needed some food. It went amazingly well with a Watermelon, Feta and Mint salad. While this probably will last a few years, the sooner you get to it, the more freshnes

This is a nice, easy drinking rose from the south of France, made from Syrah, Cinsault and Grenache. Light salmon/burnt orange in color. The nose has watermelons and orange citrus. On the palate, more viscous than expected. It is dry. 13% ABV on the label. Strawberries with a bit of bitterness on the finish. Some warmth as well. Priced at $14, this is a fine wine on its own on the back deck on a summer night and will work with some lighter foods too. Drink this year.

This is 55% Mourvèdre, 25% Grenache, and 20% Cinsault. Arguably the best Rose made today. Certainly, it is right up there with a rich track record. This vintage is another winner. A salmon pink and copper color. The nose is very pretty with watermelon along with a slight strawberry and a steely quality. On the palate, this is light and crisp. Slight tannins. It really is amazing how Rosé's have really stepped up their game over the last ten to twenty years. And, the buying public has noticed all over the world. This is a blend of 75% Grenache, 15% Cinsault and 10% Syrah. Pale silvery/salmon pink in color. Clear and bright. The nose has cherries, slight strawberries and slight tarragon.
