This is a very nice fruit forward Napa Cab. Purple/ruby in color, opaque and bright. The nose has cassis, chocolate, and tobacco. Full bodied. Medium tannins. On the palate, there is ripe cassis fruit, some oak showing and slight dry earthiness. Nice finish. This is easy going and will make nice drinking over the next ten years. A great choice with a burger off the grill.
What a beautiful showing for this red wine. This has aged beautifully despite having 15.5% abv. Another in a long line of high alcohol Napa Wines that have stood the test of time. It is a blend of 75% cabernet sauvignon, 22% merlot, and 1% of each cabernet franc, petit verdot and malbec. Purple in color, opaque and bright. This is a proprietary red from Napa made from 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Merlot, and 1% each of Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec. Tasted from two bottles, and one bottle was good, the other one great. At age 18, that is to be expected. Purple/ruby in color. The nose is great with black cherries, black raspberries, gravel and roasted meat and herbs. On the palate, this is complex as the layers start to unwind in the glass. A more elegant side of a Napa blends but outstanding. Purple in color, opaque and bright. The nose has cassis, slight cigar, black cherries and spice. Full bodied. On the palate, moderate tannins. Great texture. This is young-ish but delicious and showing some complexity. cassis and black cherry fruit that is concentrated and unwinds in the glass. Long finish. Give this another five years and it should be nearing in on maturity. It should last another twenty after that. Still some upside on this wine. Great on its own or with food. A steak or brisket would be a nice match.
This is a Napa wine made in the style of a right bank Bordeaux blend. Mostly Merlot with some Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Purple/ruby in color, mostly clear and bright. The nose is nice with cherries, black cherries, slight chocolate, cigar box and slight earthy funk. Full bodied. On the palate, this has light tannins. Flavors of black cherries, some spice with underlying earthiness. Good balance. Delicious. Nice finish. This is drinking well now but may still get better as it matures. This is a blend of 94% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot, 1% Malbec. Deep garnet in color, mostly opaque and bright. The nose is lovely with cassis, cedar, black cherries, slight dried tobacco, spice and an interesting menthol note. Full bodied. Firm tannins. On the palate, this is delicious. Cassis, black cherries, spices and graphite. Lovely texture. Long finish. This is young but drinking well. It is great on its own and would work well with roasted meats and/or root vegetables. It will still improve. Drink over the next twenty years.
