This was a pop and pour at the end of an evening and it really needs a lot more air and/or cellaring. That said, it still drank quite well and that's one of the beauties about Napa Cabs. They drink so well young. At age nine, this is just starting to get to its potential but if you have some, there is no harm opening a bottle now. Purple in color, opaque and bright. The nose is classic with cassis, graphite, cedar, leather, and spices. Full bodied. Firm tannins. Great balance. On the palate, this is delicious. Deep. Flavors of cassis, chocolate, graphite, minerality and spice. Long finish. A bit air would allow some time for the layers to separate but it is so delicious as a pop and pour. No doubt with more ageing every well stored proper bottle will be a 100-pointer but this was close enough. It will drink well for another thirty years. Great on its own, this needs bigger foods now such as a steak but also consider roasted and stuffed Eggplant.
