Inky purple in color, opaque and bright. The nose is great with cassis, blueberries, cedar, slight graphite and spice. Full bodied. Firm tannins. On the palate, this is delicious if still youthful. Flavors of cassis, blueberries, graphite and spice. Complex but tight, it unwinds in the glass. Long finish. This drinks great on its own and would be nice with roasted meats, fowl or squash. Drink over the next twenty years.
My wife's favorite winery! Hard to argue with her on that. This was stunning and still young. Purple in color, opaque and shimmering bright. The nose is great with cassis, graphite, cedar, slight coffee grounds and slight floral notes. Full bodied with firm tannins. Deep and complex; it unwinds in the glass. Delicious. Wonderful texture. Cassis with char and slight oak notes. Long finish. Just fantastic but another few years of ageing will be even better. This should drink well for another fifteen to twenty years.
This is showing to be the equal of the 2007 and the best wine ever made by Thomas Rivers Brown which is no faint praise. An exceptional bottle of wine that while young now is incredible and may still improve. It will certainly evolve. One can debate if a 100 point wine can get better on a philosophical basis. There is no question that this is a 100 point wine now, so what happens if it does improve? In any event, this is a shimmering, bright, opaque purple in color. This is the third review on Intowine for this wine and all three score 100 points. This is a great wine! It is debatable how long this will last but betting the over seems like a safe bet. Perhaps not quite as good as the amazing 2013, but a stellar wine nevertheless. Inky purple in color. The nose has cassis, blueberries, smoke and slight floral notes. On the palate, this is open and drinking well. Still, it is deep and unwinds beautifully in the glass. It really is well served with a few hours of a decant. Cassis and other dark fruits with graphite and smoke intertwined on the palate. Juicy acidity. Medium tannins. Probably about five to ten years from peak and should last a couple more decades, but wonderful now. Needs heavier food and great on its own.
