2015 Thibault Liger-Belair Bourgogne Blanc Les Charmes, France, Burgundy, Wine Review

This is a very nice Chardonnay at a reasonable price. It even says Chardonnay on the label. Light golden in color. The nose is nice. Slightly chalky with flint and slight smoke. Also some lemon. On the palate, this has a nice acidity. Lots of minerality with a bit of lemon fruit. Clean. Nice finish. Worked well with an assortment of cheeses but will work with lighter and medium bodied foods. It should last another five years but won't get much better if at all. Depending on the price where you live, this is a very nice value.

This is an inexpensive Chardonnay. Light golden in color, clear and bright. The nose has some gun flint with a touch of peach. I suspect it had more fruit when it was younger. On the palate, a bit chalky with slight peach as well. A bit bitter on the finish. This seems past prime and should be consumed soon. It will work better with food, seafood would be a nice choice.

A really nice value in French Chardonnay. Gold/green in color, clear and bright. The nose has red apples, good minerality and a touch of spice. Medium bodied. Good acidity. On the palate, no hard edges. Very smooth with apples and minerals. Long finish. Nice on its own, but better with food. Pepper crusted Tuna steaks would be nice. Drink over the next seven to ten years.

Very pale yellow gold in color, clear and bright. The nose is very nice. Some lemon drop candy with a bit of an herbal note (Chervil?). Slightly viscous texture. A nice backbone of acidity. On the palate, lemon, and lemon candy notes with a bit of Granny Smith apple notes. Long finish. This is nice on its own but better with food. It went well with an Israeli styled salad, but would be better something a bit richer so that the acidity could really stand out. Perhaps grilled Salmon with a rich sauce. Yes, it is just a Bourgogne, but it is Leroy, and she makes some of the best Bourgogne Blancs. Golden in color, clear and bright. This has a great nose with Vanilla and Fuji apples. Slight smoke. Medium bodied. Good acidity. On the palate, this is rich with nice minerality. Lemony notes. Long finish. This got better with air. This should drink well for the next decade at least. It will work on its own and will be great with sea food.
