This is a blend of 50% Corvina, 30% Corvinone, 10% Rondinella, and 10% Oseleta from northeast Italy. At age 10, this is drinking very well. Deep ruby in color, mostly clear and bright. The nose is big with black cherries, some anise, figs and baking spice. Full bodied. Great acidity. Medium tannins. On the palate, this is delicious. Plenty of depth. Bold flavors of black cherries, figs, slight raisin and slight spice. Long finish. This is nice on its own but better with food. It would work well with braised meats or a plate of Pasta in a Bolognese sauce. Drinks much younger than expected and seems like it should go another eight to twelve years.
